Long Bio

Joel Boettger is the owner operator of Boettger Music & Consulting LLC, works as an Adjunct Instructor of Theory at Wichita State University and co-directs the Wichita Jazz Collective. He is excited to start a new chapter after seven years at Bethel College as Assistant Professor of Music, Chair of the Music Department, and Assessment Coordinator. 

Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Music Education from Bethel College and a Masters of Music in Jazz Saxophone and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he studied with Charles Pillow, Bill Dobbins Clay Jenkins and Dave Rivello. Joel performs frequently in the south-central Kansas area and is a first call woodwind doubler and saxophonist for the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Music Theater of Wichita, as a freelance musician and is the staff saxophonist at Newspring Church. He has been a guest clinician and soloist at  K-12 schools and colleges in the region. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at the Eastman School of Music (NY), Wichita State University, Shawnee Mission High School (KC), Eisenhower High School (KS), and Washington High School (SD).
